The 5pm ‘Primary Group’ continues to grow with young players having a great time while improving their skills and fitness. Primary group players do need to be registered and have their fees paid to participate. Cost for primary group is $35 for the season.
Teams are reminded that only financial, registered players that are listed on the pre-printed scorecards are able to take the field unless prior arrangements have been made with the organisers. Any team fielding an unregistered player will be deemed to have forfeited that game.
As advised at the grounds last week, any incident of reported abuse to a referee will carry an automatic suspension from the competition for a minimum period of 4 weeks. This applies in all instances be it from a player on or off the field. Referees need to make a report of the incident on the back of the scorecard so that the penalty can be imposed. Longer suspension terms may apply if warranted.
The elimination semi-finals were played last week with Ben Core Electrical defeating Ball So Hard in two sets 25-11 and 25-9, then NAB defeating Suckerpunch also in two sets 25-14 and 25-22.
This week’s Grand Final between Ben Core Electrical and NAB will be played at 6pm.
The next mixed volleyball competition will commence when school returns in 2014 so now is the time to start organising your team for next year’s competition.

Mens Basketball ‘3 ON 3’ Challenge - Nomination Forms!
With five games being completed on Wednesday, all players have realised that this type of competition is challenging, lots of fun and an opportunity for them to show us their skill. As interest is increasing for the establishment of a 3 on 3 competition, nomination forms are now available at the PCYC. The ‘3 on 3’ format is played on a half court, with the winner being first to 21 pts or who’s in front at the end of the ten minute time limit. Competition is based on FIBA rules. Teams can be organised with four players per team, 3 on the floor with 1 substitution. Come along whether you have a team to enter or are just interested in taking part. The cost of being involved is $20 per team per game and all players must be current members of PCYC.
Several individual players have indicated their interest in being involved, so if you would like to play, attend at 6.30pm on Wednesday or please contact Darrell at PCYC on 63412035.
As many people are already aware, the PCYC bus required some major mechanical repairs that were beyond the club’s budget, however Cowra Truck Wreckers have very kindly donated their time and labour to carry out the repairs.
We will be fundraising to cover the cost of the parts required and any donations to help cover the costs would be greatly appreciated. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible, and can be made at PCYC on Young Road or online at www.pcycnsw.org.au/cowra.Without the assistance of Cowra Truck Wreckers it is very likely that the bus would have been sold off and, once gone, would not be replaced. So to Richard, Brian and all the staff at Cowra Truck Wreckers, Thank you, your assistance is greatly apprec [more]
