THE Cowra Eisteddfod committee will receive around $10,000 from restaurateur Tommy Jeffs’ Christmas in July Extravaganza fund-raiser on Saturday night.
Mr Jeffs assembled a cast of young and not-so-young performers to entertain and raise money to ensure that the Cowra Eisteddfod continues to take place each year.
“I couldn’t believe that such an important part of the Cowra community’s life was in jeopardy,” says Mr Jeffs.
“I was really determined to do something positive about the situation.
“I wanted to give the Cowra community the opportunity to have a great time and have the chance to show their support for the eisteddfod.
“The support I got, especially from the many local young and talented performers, showed how much they value the eisteddfod.
“The enthusiastic crowd that attended on Saturday night showed that they also support the annual event.
“As I told the crowd, the people of Cowra can make things they want happen if they are prepared to make a positive effort,” Mr Jeffs says.
