No trace of missing girl Jessica Small
A TWO-DAY search for the remains of Bathurst girl Jessica Small has failed to reveal any evidence that might solve the riddle to her disappearance and probable murder 15 years ago.
Police yesterday (Tuesday) finished machine excavating an isolated bank of the Fish River at O’Connell without finding a clue at the site near Beaconsfield Rd between Bathurst and Oberon.
Ms Small, 15, was last seen about 12:35am on Sunday, October 26, 1997, in the city’s CBD after attending the Amuse Me amusement centre on Russell St with a female friend.
Police this morning (Wednesday) are quoted saying while they are disappointed in the result, they did everything they could to try to find something related to the girl’s disappearance.
Homicide Squad detectives will remain in Bathurst for another week.
Anyone with any information about Ms Small’s abduction should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. |
