Central West Libraries boosts
digital download choices
CENTRAL West Libraries (CWL) has added to its digital content with hundreds of titles from the One Click Digital collection and a range of language courses online.
“Your CWL library card gives members access to an increasing range of high quality digital resources to download to a tablet, laptop, phone or similar device,” says library manager Jan Richards.
“We are responding to feedback from users to broaden the choices available through CWL Online.
“The new range of audio downloads includes over 600 popular titles by well-known international writers of thrillers, crime, or romance novels as well as biographies, about travel and self help.
“It’s all part of our plan to provide library access anywhere, anytime,” says Ms Richards.
“We are also delighted to add to our download selection of children’s stories.
“We’ve been told that playing these stories on the way has made the long holiday car journey more pleasurable for everyone.
“Others tell us that listening to a book while doing something else such as exercising, gardening or quilting helps to overcome the lack of time to read.”
CWL is also launching free access to Transparent Language Online, which offers more than 80 languages through comprehensive self-paced learning programs.
“Previously we found it difficult to provide learning resources in high demand languages such as French, but now these are online and available from home,” says Ms Richards.
“With Transparent Language Online we can also satisfy requests for a wider number of languages such as Indonesian.
“It also has modules for those who want to improve their English skills.”
