Cops bust men in car park drug deal
POLICE have busted three men from Tamworth and a senior Commanchero bikie doing a drug deal in the car park of a fast-food outlet in the Hunter region.
The three men, aged 23, 24 and 25, travelled from Tamworth to Cessnock on Friday to meet another man and purchase prohibited drugs, police say.
All four men were arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station.
The 24-year-old was found in possession of a quantity of methylamphetamine and cash, police say.
Officers raided his home at Tamworth where they allegedly located another stash of methylamphetamines and a shortened rifle.
Detectives also raided the home of a 46-year-old Gorokan man, who police will allege is a senior member of the Commanchero outlaw motorcycle gang, seizing a quantity of methylamphetamines and cash.
The 23, 24 and 46-year-old men were charged with offences including supply prohibited drug, deal proceeds of crime and firearms offences.
They were refused bail to appear in Maitland Local Court yesterday (Saturday).
The 25-year-old man was released without charge pending further investigations.
Strike Force Coomalie was established to investigate drug supply offences in the Tamworth area. |
