Rifles, shotgun stolen from property
THREE rifles and a shotgun have been stolen from a cattle property at Salisbury, northeast of Singleton.
Police were called about 8:30am yesterday (Tuesday) after the owners returned to the property and found it had been broken into.
Four firearms – a Winchester .22 rifle, Sterling .22 rifle, Magnum .22 rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun – had been stolen from a locked cabinet inside the house.
Ammunition had also been stolen.
The owners, a 71-year-old man and his wife, do not live on the property and it’s believed the break-in occurred within the past three weeks, police say.
Anyone with information, or who believes they know the whereabouts of the firearms, should contact Port Stephens Police or Crime Stoppers. |
