B-double crash disrupts hwy traffic
PACIFIC Highway traffic remains disrupted today (Thursday) after a B-double truck crash north of Taree.
Police say the northbound truck rolled on to the median strip north of the Ghinni Ghinni Bridge, 10km south of Coopernook, about 10pm yesterday (Wednesday).
The driver, believed aged in his 50s, was freed from the wreckage by Volunteer Rescue Association members before being airlifted from the scene.
He suffered injuries to his head, leg and arm, police say.
One lane of the highway remains closed in each direction, and may remain so for most of the day.
Motorists need to be aware there may be delays through lane closures and subsequent salvage operation.
