Man, 53, dies after skiing into tree
A MAN has died after crashing into a tree while skiing at Guthega, in the Kosciusko National Park.
The 53-year-old man, from Tathra on the South Coast, was skiing with a friend in the Guthega area of the Perisher Ski Resort when he crashed into a tree about 2:20pm yesterday (Monday).
After the accident, the man was transported on a sled to the bottom of the ski run, where he complained of chest pain, police say.
The skier then fell unconscious and paramedics started CPR, but the man couldn’t be revived.
