Gets to grips with wrestling

warfare at the Civic Centre

COWRA’S own pro-wrestling organisation will stage its inaugural show, Western Warfare, at the Civic Centre on Saturday, March 9.

Led by local wrestler and now show promoter, James (High Octane) Lanham, with the help of Canberra-based parent company Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), a group of highly talented individuals performing under the ICW Central West banner will roll into town to give the people of Cowra a fun, exciting, audience interactive and family friendly night of entertainment.

The doors open at 5:30pm and the show starts at 6pm.

It will go until 8:30 or 9pm.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for concession (children under 16 years and pensioners) with children under five admitted free.

Tickets are on sale at Cowra Breakout, 20 Macquarie St, and at the door on the night, if still available.

Fans are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets as those bought beforehand will entitle fans to seating priority.

Top wrestlers from Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne will be appearing,

The Birdman, a Sydney-based wrestler with whom some local fans may be familiar through past appearances in the area.

The Birdman really puts on a great show for people of all ages, especially children, with his charismatic and highly entertaining wrestling style and bird-like mannerism,

Others are Rex, the president of ICW, who hails from Canberra, an aggressive and dominating competitor; Xavier Black, a well-travelled wrestler from Melbourne who has an intense, hard striking wrestling style; and Cowra’s own High Octane, who brings his nine years of experience to the squared circle and has held many championships during his career.

Add to them a quality line-up of other wrestlers such as Dozer, Mr Saturday Night, Flame, Kandi Luv, Cobra Tai, Devious Dave, Mike Kelly, Chris Shadows and many more.

One-dollar from every ticket sold will go to charity.

While the wrestling action will be hard, heavy and intense this show will be appropriate viewing for all ages and alcohol- and drug-free.

The larger-than-life characters and interaction with the audience, as well as the athleticism and drama, will make this a fun night out for all.

There’ll be a free autograph signing after the show, giving fans the opportunity to meet and mingle with the wrestlers.

Fans are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures of the show and with the wrestlers.
