Cowra & District Relay For Life

Celebrate, Remember, Fight back

The Relay For Life is a fun community event where teams of up to 20 participate in an overnight relay-style walk or run to raise funds for the Cancer Council. Everyone is able to participate as the event aims to bring the whole community together for a night of fun, entertainment, celebration and remembrance. The Cowra & District Relay For Life is organised by a local group of dedicated volunteers who put endless time and effort into making this community event one of the district’s most memorable 18 hours ever.

This year the Cowra & District Relay will be taking place on Sat 11TH & Sun 12TH May, 2013 at the Sid Kallas Oval.

It will start on the Saturday at 3.45pm with a survivors and carers lap of honour where the participants clap on and celebrate local cancer survivors & carers. At dusk, the always moving Candlelight Ceremony of Hope begins where we remember those who have lost their battle with cancer, and the Relay For Life comes to a

close at 10am on the Sunday at 10am after the fight back ceremony where we pledge to fight back against this disease that effects 1 in 3 of us.
