Teen shoots father while hunting
A TEENAGE boy has shot his 64-year-old father in the leg while hunting near Albury.
Police have been told that about 10:45pm yesterday (Friday), the father was driving a utility on a property at Bowna, 35km northeast of Albury, while his 16-year-old son rode in the rear tray.
It’s believed the utility hit uneven terrain as the boy fired a shot, causing the bullet to enter the cabin and hit his father in the leg, police say.
The father was taken to Albury Base Hospital where he was treated and released.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, however, it’s believed the incident was accidental, police say. |
