New offices for Centrelink, Medicare
COWRA’S new purpose-built offices housing Centrelink, Medicare and CRS Australia opens today (Monday).
The new centre is located on the Corner of Brisbane St and Railway Lane.
“The building gives Cowra residents an open-plan design, modern facilities and up-to-date information on the range of payments and services provided by the Department of Human Services,” says Minister for Human Services, Senator Kim Carr.
Senator for New South Wales, Ursula Stephens, has welcomed the new Service Centre, saying the new office is larger with a modern, open layout and waiting area, more service desks and space for visitors and staff.
“Families and seniors who live in and around Cowra can claim their Medicare rebates and talk to staff about claiming payments like the Family Tax Benefit or the Age Pension,” says Senator Stephens.
“A CRS Australia visiting service will also be based out of the new office on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30am to 4:30pm,” she says.
“Bringing Centrelink, Medicare and CRS Australia services together under one roof will provide easy access to government services for Cowra residents,” says Senator Carr.
“The new Service Centre on Brisbane Street has easy access for people with a disability, and will offer designated parking at the back of the office.”
Centrelink and Medicare services ceased at the Kendal St Service Centre last Friday.
The new centre, at 93-95 Brisbane St, will be open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
