Man arrested after bushland siege
A MAN has been tasered by police following a three-and-a-half hour siege in Blue Mountains bushland, west of Sydney.
Around 9pm yesterday (Wednesday), police received a call from the man who said he was at Bluff Lookout at Lapstone with a loaded firearm.
Negotiators tried to contact him as officers from the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU) made their way into the bush.
Soon after, he emerged with a black handgun before running away, police say.
He was tasered after allegedly ignoring police orders to surrender.
Police say a loaded firearm was found nearby and ammunition was found in the man’s pocket.
The 56-year-old from Glenbrook was taken to Springwood Police Station. |
