Man shot with antique revolver
TWO antique firearms have been seized by police after a man was shot in the right arm on a property in the state’s north.
Police have been told about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday), a man was showing a friend two antique handguns in the dining room of his home at Lillian Rock, about 13km northeast of Nimbin, when one of them discharged.
A bullet from a revolver – reportedly dating from 1830 – hit a 46-year-old Queensland man in his right upper arm.
He was taken to Nimbin Hospital before being transferred to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment.
Police went to the property and seized the revolver and a second antique firearm – neither gun was registered, police say.
The 59-year-old owner is assisting police with their inquiries. |
