Community invited to attend Cowra
Peace Precinct progress meeting
TOWNSPEOPLE have been invited to attend a progress meeting with the consultants preparing plans for the Cowra Peace Precinct.
Cowra Shire Council’s environmental services director, Michael Carter, says the meeting is designed to allow the community to provide input into these documents.
“I would encourage all interested community groups and residents to attend this meeting and see the work that has been done to date on the Peace Precinct project,” he says.
The consultants, who are preparing environmental management and master plans, will present their findings and suggested options for the future management of the Peace Precinct. People attending the meeting will then be invited to discuss the work and provide feedback.
Mr Carter says it is anticipated that, following this meeting, the plans will be formally presented to the council to be placed on public exhibition.
“The public exhibition period will give the wider community, and anyone who cannot attend the progress meeting, the opportunity to comment on the plans,” he says.
The Peace Precinct progress meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 10, from 6 to 7pm at the council’s Kendal St chambers. For more information, phone Cowra Shire’s Environmental Services Department on 6340 2040. |
