Teacher dies in fall from tree
A TEACHER at Bathurst’s St Stanislaus’ College has died after falling to the ground while felling a tree on his Yetholme property.
Nathan Irwin, 33, husband and father of three, was using a chainsaw on his Macebees Rd block of land when he fell 13m to the base of the tree about 2pm Saturday, according to reports.
Ambulance paramedics were unable to revive Mr Irwin, who reportedly suffered serious injuries to his head, spine, pelvis and legs in the fall.
Mr Irwin taught metals and engineering to Year 11 and 12 students at St Stanislaus’ College, where he built sets for the school’s production of Godspell, which opened this week.
