chases in stolen car – police
POLICE have arrested three teenage boys allegedly involved in three pursuits in a stolen car in the Hunter region this morning (Wednesday).
The chase came to a stop when officers deployed road spikes in the Neath area and the trio ran into bushland.
Police called in Polair and the dog unit and the teens were arrested about 10:40am.
Officers were first involved in a pursuit with a stolen white Ford Falcon station wagon in the Sandy Hollow area after it was allegedly driven off after the occupants failed to pay for petrol at garages, police say.
The Ford was again pursued along the Golden Highway, Jerrys Plains, about 8:05am.
At 8:35am, police were informed the vehicle had stopped at a petrol station in Greta, where the occupants filled the tank and again drove off without paying.
Central Hunter Highway Patrol officers chased the car until it ran over spikes in the Neath area.
The car was dumped in Forbes St, Abermain, before the occupants ran into nearby bushland.
The three have been taken to Cessnock Police Station where they are assisting inquiries. |
