Pedestrian dies after being hit by 4WD
A MAN has died after he was struck by a 4WD as he crossed a road in the Hunter region.
The 25-year-old man suffered critical injuries when he was hit by a Kia 4WD about 7:30pm yesterday (Wednesday) crossing the New England Highway at Muswellbrook, police say.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital where he died on arrival.
The 60-year-old male driver of the Kia was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
