Accused Condo sex attacker
on state’s most wanted list
A MAN accused of a violent sex attack in Condobolin has been added to the state’s most wanted list.
Police say Leigh David White, 28, (right) may be hiding in the community, working as a shearer.
White is alleged to have attacked and then sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in Condobolin in March 2010.
The attack left the woman needing hospital treatment.
White was charged with aggravated sexual assault, grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
But he fled after a Supreme Court judge released him on bail and he hasn’t been seen since.
Yesterday (Sunday), New South Wales Police added him to the most wanted list – a motley collection of seven accused crooks and bandits – and urged the public to turn him in.
“It is in the public interest that White be located as soon as possible,” says Detective Sergeant Scott Baker.
“Furthermore, anyone who is assisting White in evading police may be charged with hindering a police investigation, or other serious offences.
“All information provided is treated in the strictest of confidence.”
Police say they believe White may be working as a shearer in western NSW or interstate.
They say he, like all those on the most wanted list, should not be approached.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
