Two men die in crash with B-double
TWO men have died in a smash involving a car and a B-double truck near Dubbo.
Police say a Honda Accord driven by a 23-year-old man and carrying two passengers, a 38-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, collided with the truck as the car approached the T-intersection of Muronbung Rd and the Golden Highway at Ballimore, east of Dubbo, about 4pm yesterday (Tuesday).
The 21-year-old car driver, a Finnish national, had died of injuries when emergency services reached the crash site.
His male passenger was trapped in the vehicle for two hours before being freed and taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a critical condition.
He was then flown to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital where he died today (Wednesday).
The female passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment.
The 44-year-old male driver of the truck was taken to Dubbo Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
