Oops! – drink driver crashes into cop cars
A MAN has been arrested after allegedly crashing his station wagon into two police vehicles while driving under the influence at Katoomba last night (Monday).
Police say the 50-year-old’s Subaru swerved on to the incorrect side of the street and crashed into a parked police vehicle, pushing it into a second vehicle parked behind it, outside Katoomba Police Station shortly before 7pm.
Hearing the impact, officers ran from the station and chased the driver who took off running down Katoomba St.
He was caught and arrested after a short scuffle.
The man was charged with mid-range drink driving, resisting arrest and assault police, and granted conditional bail to appear in Katoomba Local Court next month. |
