Driver six times over PCA limit
A 51-YEAR-OLD man has been caught driving an unregistered car in Canberra with his blood alcohol level more than six times the legal limit, police say.
ACT Police stopped a car in Hibberson St, in the northern suburb of Gungahlin, on Friday night because the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver is alleged to have blown a positive alcohol test, before subsequently recording a blood alcohol level of 0.331 at Gungahlin Police Station.
That’s more than six times the legal limit of 0.05.
The vehicle had also been unregistered since March 2010.
The man’s driving licence was suspended immediately. |
