Two die in motorcycle crashes
A WOMAN pillion rider and a male motorcyclist have died in separate road crashes in Sydney’s west.
Police are continuing the search for a driver who allegedly failed to stop following a hit-and-run collision, after which a 23-year-old woman died in hospital of her injuries.
The crash happened shortly after 9pm yesterday (Sunday) at the intersection of Maud and Ligar Sts, Fairfield West.
Police found the 21-year-old male rider and his passenger suffering serious injuries.
Both were both taken to Liverpool Hospital where the woman died.
The man remains in a serious condition with leg injuries.
The hit-and-run car, believed to be a Toyota, would have significant damage to the front, police say.
Meanwhile, a 67-year-old man riding a BMW motorcycle on the M4 Motorway, east of the Mamre Rd interchange, died after a collision with a utility about 9:10am yesterday.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
The 71-year-old female driver of the utility was treated for shock at the scene and taken to hospital where she underwent mandatory blood and urine tests.
Reports will be prepared for the Coroner.
Anyone who may have witnessed either crash should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
