Teen charged with school, pub break-ins
A BOY from Bathurst has been charged over a series of break-ins and thefts at a school and an hotel at Collarenebri, west of Moree, over the past month.
The 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday at a home on Barwon St, Collarenebri.
He’s been charged with three counts of break-and-enter, three counts of malicious damage and possession of prohibited drugs.
The charges relate to a break-in at a Collarenebri school late last month, during which a sum of money was stolen from the administration building.
The youth has also been charged over two break-ins at a Herbert St hotel, which allegedly occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Alcohol and a signed Queensland State of Origin jersey were stolen, rooms ransacked, and damage caused to a jukebox, pool table and beer taps.
The teenager was refused bail and due to appear at Walgett Children’s Court yesterday (Thursday). |
