Woman charged over hit-and-run
A WOMAN has been arrested and charged over the alleged hit-and-run death of a woman earlier this week at Port Macquarie, on the Mid-North Coast.
The 48-year-old victim was allegedly struck and left with fatal injuries on Hill St about 6:20pm on Wednesday.
Police say the car involved did not stop after hitting the woman and she died at the scene.
Police seized a green 2000-model Mazda 323 from a business in Port Macquarie yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, following information uncovered during the investigation.
Officers arrested a 53-year-old woman at a home on Hill St a short time later.
She has been charged with fail to stop and render assistance following a vehicle impact causing death.
The woman has been released on conditional bail and will appear at Port Macquarie Local Court next month.
Police are still seeking the drivers in hit-and-run fatalities this week in Sydney’s Fairfield West and Waterfall. |
