Child abuse material, firearm seized – police
A MAN is in custody after child abuse material and firearms were allegedly found at a home in Forbes, police say.
Acting on information and items provided, officers executed a search warrant at a home about 9:50am Friday.
Allegedly seized were discs, memory cards, two computers containing contained child abuse material, a loaded shotgun, ammunition, equipment used to administer prohibited drugs and 26 stolen number plates.
A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken to Forbes Police Station where he was charged with produce, disseminate or possess child abuse material; possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority; possess unregistered firearm; possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority; possess equipment for administering prohibited drugs; and, goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen
The man was refused bail and appeared before Forbes Bail Court on Saturday where his bail was further refused.
He will re-appear in custody before Orange Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday). |
