Pig hunters find stolen firearms in bush
PIG hunters have come across a cache of firearms, hidden in bushland, that were reported stolen from Wilcannia early last month.
Nine weapons were taken from a Palmer St, Wilcannia, home between 5pm on Friday, June 8, and 1pm on Saturday, June 9, police say.
About 8pm on Friday, a group of people on a pig-hunting trip in the Lake Woytchugga area, west of Wilcannia, came across six firearms hidden in bushland.
The group retrieved the weapons, returned to Wilcannia and handed them over to police.
Three firearms stolen during the theft remain outstanding.
